The Challenge

Background and Context: Forester Haynie, a law firm that handles mass torts, personal injury and wage and hour cases in Texas, Arkansas and California, sought to expand its reach beyond its local market.

“I became interested in becoming a member of Lexamica to network with like-minded individuals without having to go to every conference in the US and, also, to be able to see cases that I normally would not have seen, and to refer leads to other people that we were just throwing away,” says Matthew Haynie, co-owner of Forester Haynie Law Firm.

Previous Approach: Before Lexamica, Forester Haynie relied on traditional networking and referral methods, which were time-consuming and limited in scope. The firm struggled to consistently find and manage cases outside their immediate geographic area.

“We would have to physically get an office outside of our immediate geographic location or hire someone to come in and litigate the case for us,” says Haynie. “We hired someone 5 years ago to come in and help with a new area of law and jurisdiction we were looking to expand to. She worked for us for a bit and then took several of the clients with her and left our firm.”

“The other option would be to send the lead to a large firm that does a little bit of everything in that jurisdiction,” says Haynie. And even then, the management of those referred out leads boiled down to “tons of spreadsheets and emails” and having a dedicated staff member responsible for tracking referral case updates and revenue.

The Lexamica Solution

Partnership Impact:  Joining Lexamica's network opened new avenues for Forester Haynie. The platform's ability to match cases with other employment law firms allowed Forester Haynie to receive targeted referrals aligned with their expertise. This resulted in a significant increase in case volume and geographic reach.

Since joining the Acquire side of Lexamica, Forester Haynie has had at least 500 cases sent to them for review.

“We have received a lot of employment leads from across the country, as a lot of PI firms just do not know how to handle them and also usually do not want to work those types of claims, so it has been tremendous for us,” says Haynie. “We have also been able to refer out random one-off PI cases in states that we did not have a referral partner to send cases to previously.”

After joining the Refer side of Lexamica, Forester Haynie has sent out at least 100 cases for review by Lexamica referral partners.

“We can now hop on there and find someone to bounce ideas off of or straight refer the case to them,” says Haynie. “We have at least 50 new referral partners that we did not have before and can now refer cases with the click of a button.”

Collaborative Efforts: Lexamica worked closely with Forester Haynie to understand their specific needs and strengths. The platform's integration capabilities allowed for seamless incorporation into the firm's existing workflows, minimizing disruption while maximizing efficiency.

“Lexamica staffers had lots of integration calls with our team to address anything and everything we needed to get us synced up with the platform,” says Haynie.

Technology Utilization:  Lexamica's automated tracking and payment systems proved particularly valuable for Forester Haynie. These features allowed the firm to manage a higher volume of cases across multiple jurisdictions without a proportional increase in administrative overhead. In fact, remember that dedicated employee responsible for tracking referral case updates and revenue?

“She is now able to do a lot of other tasks in the firm, whereas before she was basically just working on tracking referrals,” says Haynie.

Results & Future Outlook

Quantifiable Outcome: Since partnering with Lexamica, Forester Haynie has seen a substantial increase in case referrals. The firm has been able to expand its practice to handle employment law cases nationwide, significantly boosting its revenue and client base.

“Our overall caseload has doubled,” says Haynie. “A lot more referrals are coming into our firm than before. By at least 1000%”

Challenges Overcome:  One of the initial hurdles was adapting to the increased case volume. Lexamica's streamlined processes and data integration capabilities helped Forester Haynie scale its operations efficiently.

Future Plans: Building on this success, Forester Haynie is exploring ways to further leverage Lexamica's platform. The firm is considering into additional practice areas and using Lexamica's data insights to refine its case selection and management strategies.

We have at least 50 new referral partners that we did not have before joining Lexamica, and can now refer cases with the click of a button
